Shadowing Text in PowerPoint
Shadows can add a professional look to text. There
are two quick and easy ways to add shadow to texts in PowerPoint.
To add default shadow to text
- Open a PowerPoint presentation.
- Add text as desired.
- Highlight the text.
- Select Format > Font.
- Select Shadow and click OK
To customize shadow on text
- Open a PowerPoint presentation.
- Add text as desired.
- Highlight text and click the Shadow (insert button image) button from the PowerPoint
Drawing toolbar.
- Do one of the following:
- Choose a shadow angle. PowerPoint automatically shadows text, or
- Click Shadow Settings. The following dialog appears.
- You can make adjustments to the shadow in this dialog. If you want to make
further adjustments, such as choosing the shadow color, click the down arrow.
- Choose settings as desired.
Bonus Tip!
Keep in mind that shadows usually work best with simple, sans serif fonts. If you want
to heavily shadow a font, clean font is mandatory. If you want to shadow a more detailed
font, choose a light shadowing effect.
