Embossing text means giving it a raised effect. It should look as though the text has been stamped onto the "page" from the reverse side. This is a highly artistic way of using fonts and must be used sparingly if you plan to project your presentation. Embossing is best used in moderation.

Note Embossing doesn’t work with a black background.

To emboss text

1. Open a PowerPoint presentation.



2. Add text as desired.



3. Highlight text.



4. From the Format menu, select Font.



5. Select Emboss and click OK.

Note Keep in mind that embossing works best with a heavy font. A delicate font isn’t usually weighty enough to carry the embossing. If the background is a Picture, Texture, or Pattern, the text becomes white with a gray shadow.
