Embossing Text in PowerPoint

Embossing text means giving it a raised effect. It should look as though the text has been stamped onto the "page" from the reverse side. This is a highly artistic way of using fonts and must be used sparingly if you plan to project your presentation. Embossing is best used in moderation.

Note
Embossing doesn’t work with a black background.

To emboss text

  1. Open a PowerPoint presentation.

  2. Add text as desired.

  3. Highlight text.

  4. From the Format menu, select Font.

  5. Select Emboss and click OK.

Note

  • Keep in mind that embossing works best with a heavy font. A delicate font isn’t usually weighty enough to carry the embossing.
  • If the background is a Picture, Texture, or Pattern, the text becomes white with a gray shadow.
