Often, when you review a presentation (whether
created by you or by someone else), you need to make edits. If you are like many people, you
play the presentation (using Slide Show) and scribble down notes on a piece of paper. Then,
you have to transfer your notes into something more useful. Perhaps you write an email or draft
a Word document to send to the individual who wrote the presentation? You try to reference
slides by number and get something like the following . . .
There is an easier way of communicating.
PowerPoint allows you to insert comments directly on the slides. The
comments appear in yellow comment boxes, and you can move, resize, and reformat the text and
comment boxes just as you can any other object.
To add comments to a presentation
- Open a PowerPoint presentation.
- Left-click the presentation Slide Show button.
- While viewing the presentation, right-click and then select Pointer Options > Pen.
- Hold down the mouse button as you write or draw on a slide.
Note
You can run a presentation Slide Show without viewing attached comments. On the View
menu, click Comments.
