Looking for an incredibly easy-to-use 3D animation tool to add some zip to
your next presentation? Consider a suite of tools available from
CrystalGraphics. These tools are known as PowerPlugs because they add
incredible power to Microsoft PowerPoint presentations. PowerPlugs include
specific tools for Transitions, PhotoActive FX, SuperShapes, Charts,
Backgrounds, 3D Titles, and Photos. Each of these tools is a simple software
product that plugs into Microsoft PowerPoint and allows you to add
sophisticated television-style 3D effects to multimedia presentations. This
means you can create stunning visual effects that are guaranteed to hold
your audience's attention.

PowerPlug options. Current offerings include the following:

- PowerPlugs: Transitions I and II
Transitions energize PowerPoint presentations with TV-style 3D transition effects.
You can choose features that go far beyond traditional PowerPoint transitions.
- PowerPlugs: PhotoActive FX I and II
PhotoActive FX adds animated television-style photo effects to PowerPoint
presentations. Still photo effects are also provided.
- PowerPlugs: Photos I & II
Photos contains high-quality business, communication, emotion, and team-oriented
photographs. You can add photos to PowerPoint presentations and other multimedia
projects as well. Photos can be installed to a hard drive or accessed as needed from
the CD ROM. Installation is simple. Just install the photos. Then, use the Insert
menu in PowerPoint (Insert > Picture > From File). All photos are stored in a
high-quality JPEG file format at 72 dpi, up to 1024 x 768 in resolution.
- PowerPlugs: 3D Titles
Titles lets you add animated 3D title slides to your PowerPoint
presentations. Just like all of the other PowerPlugs, Titles are
customizable. Once installed, a new menu item appears in the PowerPoint
Insert menu. Just click Add 3D Title Slide to select, customize, and insert
a title slide.
- PowerPlugs: SuperShapes I & II
SuperShapes adds animated shape effects (such as arrows, buttons, text
frames, and banners) to PowerPoint presentations. These are somewhat
"standard" visual effects, but the animations make them appear
unique.
- PowerPlugs: Charts
Charts let you create sophisticated 3D charts easily and quickly. You can
select from a variety of unique 2D and 3D chart styles, many of which are
not possible with MS Graph.
- PowerPlugs: Backgrounds I & II
Includes hundreds of backgrounds based on artistic template styles.
These tools do not have extensive system requirements. They do, however, require DirectX
5.0: see below.
