Quick Reference for Multimedia Projector Placement
Multimedia projectors come in so many different
varieties . . . portable, superportable, installable, etc. If you are used to one type
of projector, you may find a learning curve when moving to another.
Nevertheless, one thing that remains fairly constant
is the placement for multimedia projectors. They all adhere to universal projection distances.

Don't have your audience squinting at your next
presentation! Remember that the brightness of your projector can significantly change the optimal
image size for your presentation. The brightness (lumens) is the amount of visible light that is
emitted from a projector. To identify the number of lumens you require, consider the audience size,
the size of your facilities in which you will be presenting, and the surrounding lighting conditions.
As a rule of thumb, the bigger the desired presentation image size, the larger the audience, and
the brighter the lighting conditions, the more lumens your projector will need to deliver the
image quality you want!
